1917. (Personally conducted tours every half hour.)
10 a. m.— Davis Gardens F lyin g Fields. Christening o f
“ The G ood Ship, B. J .” , which is a Curtiss A eroplan e, the first
purchased and used by a Chiropractor as an Advertisem ent
to make professional calls with and to go to Lyceum s in. The
G ood Ship, B. J., belongs to F. C. Shaklee, D. C., Fort D odge,
Iowa.
Dr. Shaklee will fly over the R ock Island depot upon the
arrival o f TH E C H IRO PR A CTIC SPECIAL from Chicago
and over the city during the parade W ednesday.
The Fountain Head News mentioned that Dr. Shaklee
w ould arrive, landing at the Fair Grounds. This has been
changed to the Davis Gardens F lying Field, w hich is located
just off the main road one half mile east o f the end o f the
Bettendorf street car line. Take any Bettendorf street car
going east, walk from the end o f the line to the Zimmerman
Steel Com pany road; take that and follow to the field.
