The sentiments of a large number of physicians will agree with
H. A. Whitfield, M. D., when he says: “Laws regulating methods and
practices of healing the sick are unconstitutional and pernicious.”
John A. Goodell said, in speaking to Dr. B. J. Palmer: “ I feel
much indebted to you for the knowledge I have gained of the science
of Chiropractic.”
“ I say science because I believe you have the only scientific
theory for the cause of disease.”

Mr. D., of D., writes us: “ You will appreciate the fact that I have
already spent $500 for Chiro, and realize little except the clinical
work.”
Mr. D. got Chiropractic 4th 'handed. The 2nd-hand man who
learned Chiropractic of the discoverer took a 3 months course nearly
four years ago. Chiropractic has grown in physical strength and
mental vigor nearly as much in that four years as in the five years
previous. Four years ago we could teach all we knew of Chiropractic
in three months; now we have to put in nine months of close study
in order to learn all there is of this new science.
We are daily in receipt of many letters praising Chiropractic, but
it is not often that we get two extremes in one day. Following are
two samples:
“ Dear Doctor Palmer:
“ I have just read your article ‘A Valuable Watch.” I am well
pleased with the sound logic of the same. Please send me your
booklet. I have seen some fine results following Chiropractic treat
ment by a local Chiropractor. J. C.”
Here is one o f an opposite nature. The reason is self-evident:
“A couple of grafters opened up a place here last summer, and
called it Chiropractic Institute and College, pretending to teach the
science. They caught a near and dear friend of mine; a poor woman
with three small children to support, taking every dollar she had
saved. She spent three or four weeks with them, and nearly $500, and
has little for it.”
OUR INCOMING MAIL.
Our incoming mail shows quite a diversity of opinions in regard to
what the writers think of Chiropractic. One Osteopath wrote us that
he had got “ the secret” of Chiropractic. We answered his letter. He
then wrote us that it was a “friend” of his who obtained “ the secret.”
This will cause each one of our graduates to smile, who have attended
the clinic and classes for months in order to learn Chiropractic, as
they would learn any other profession.
